Welcome to our first eNewsletter!
Walnut Grove lives on! We aren't gone just because we're not at East Broadway anymore. Walnut Grove will always be a cultural and family center that resides in our hearts. WE are Walnut Grove! We carry the Walnut Grove mission and message with us wherever we go. Join us in spreading the word as we continue accompanying women one by one on the path to holiness and happiness.
Letter from the President
Dear Cooperators and Friends,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Walnut Grove Cultural Center, warm greetings!
As you may be aware at this time, Walnut Grove has moved out of East Broadway Street. There is the old adage that goes "A house it not a home". Indeed, while Walnut Grove gave up its home of eleven years, its spirit continues to live in the hearts of all of you, our cooperators and friends, as we have witnessed you follow us to St Bede’s Catholic Church for our monthly recollections.
Many have offered and opened their homes to host our other activities. For that we are grateful. As an organization eager for growth, we look forward to reaching out to a larger group of people with whom we can communicate and share our vision. St. Josemaria said, "Why fly like a barnyard hen when you can soar like an eagle?" (The Way #7.) Moving out of the comforts of Broadway St. was our first bold step towards this goal. Even as we explore and study the best direction to take, we shall continue the professional, cultural and spiritual formation we are committed to provide.
Please visit our website at www.walnutgrovecenter.org to stay up-to-date on our future plans and activities. For now, we have decided to move to a digital newsletter platform in order to communicate more easily with all of you as often as needed. Ask your friends to sign up on the website to receive the WGCC eNewsletter too. As we move forward, we need your continued support. Talk to your family, friends and colleagues about Walnut Grove activities everywhere and invite them to the next recollection in your area. As we dream of expanding our outreach to more women of all ages, an important part of that dream is to eventually find a site that we can one day call “our home.” In the meantime, thank you for your unwavering apostolic and financial support. Walnut Grove growth depends -in no small way- on your loyal generosity! We look forward to seeing you at our Christmas Event and Donor Appreciation Day on Dec. 9th. Look for details in our announcement below.
Cheers, Cynthia Abesa
